**Products given for review-- this does not affect the outcome
Before we begin reviewing, let me fill you in on a bit of my hairstory...
I'm a curly girl, I get my curls from both my mother's and father's side.
My ancestry comes from both Europe and the Mid. East and this gives me pretty tight spirals.

My hair texture and density are both medium.
(English-- Texture: my hair isn't fine or coarse it's in the middle, leaning on the coarser side
Density: Amount of hair per square inch, I'm average).
I had never embraced my natural curls, even throughout cosmetology school. I used a flat iron every day for 9+ years, and had a real bleach addiction.
I loved fire truck red hair, and bright orange ombres. They just didn't love me back.
Basically,
I fried my hair.
So badly I had to cut the majority of it off.
Now I'm stuck rocking a really short, disconnected (not in the good layer way) haircut as I try and grow out what was once beautiful long locks.
The decision to go natural for me was more than just vanity, I rejected my curls because I had rejected my heritage. When I finally embraced who I was I decided to get twisted, stay twisted, and let my hair fly free.
My curly hair issue was this: products designed for black hair were too heavy for me, and products designed for white hair were too light.
I was skeptical when I was offered the chance to try Twisted Sista I figured it would just be another product that was too gentle and too heavy on my hair.
Boy, was I wrong...
First of all, it smells AMAZING.
I know that's not the priority, but I can't stand products that smell bad.
Here's what matters--
Most importantly,
NO ANIMAL TESTING!!
Also pretty important,
Sulfate free
+
Paraben free.
=
Healthier products that don't damage your hair.
=
Healthier products promote healthy hair
=
Healthy hair GROWS
Sulfates are a big no-no for me. They strip hair of moisture, color, and more. Why spend all that money and time coloring your hair just to wash it away?
I'm also an ingredient junkie, and asked about the ingredients at the Beauty Press #SpotlightDay (@beautypress http://www.beautypress.com/info-website/index.html) exhibit.
She said the magic word-- COCONUT OIL
Not only do I topically use coconut oil on my skin, but I cook with it, mix it in my morning coffee, and use it whenever I can. This is one of my favorite all around key ingredients.
It also has almond + avocado oil which are great natural healthy ingredients as well, I just only get super excited about coconut oil.
For one week straight I used nothing but Twisted Sista products.
I cannot remember my hair ever being this soft.
No crunch, no frizz, my curls looked like a Pantene commercial (minus the Pantene that doesn't work). Even my dead ends felt softer and less fried.
I was in such shock that this review is WEEKS late because I had to stop using the product and re-try this trial to make sure it wasn't a weather change fluke.
The products I tried were--
The LUXURIOUS CLARIFYING SHAMPOO didn't dry out my hair at all, I thought there was no way this could be clarifying. I was going to have to stop using when my hair got greasy-- but it NEVER happened. My hair was clean, soft, and pliable. Although I love it, I would probably alternate once every four shampoos to one a bit stronger just to switch it up.
The first day I made the mistake of using excess product.
I was so used to my curls being thirsty and sucking up all the product that I generally use 2X the recommended amount.
Not wasting product is a HUGE money saver. I'm pretty sure the Amazing Dream Curls Cream Gel will last me over a year. No joke.
The way I listed the products above corresponds to the order in which I used them. After day 1 when I used the normal amount of product I noticed my hair felt better, looked better, was frizz free, shiny, and overall fantastic.
I couldn't stop touching my hair. It had never felt this good. All the years I spent money on super expensive products seemed so wasteful.
When I sleep on my curls they get stretched out and frizzy and just messy (not in the cute bun way). I tried the 30 SECOND CURL SPRAY after sleeping on my hair without wrapping it or pinning it and it really did revitalize them. First time a "next-morning" product has EVER worked for me.
If I could only choose one product to continue for the rest of my life, it would be AMAZING DREAM CURLS CREAM GEL. This is unlike anything I've tried regardless of price range. I've tried $50.00 products, super exclusive products, and I'd yet to see a gel anything like this. All the control of a a flexible hold gel with ZERO CRUNCH! My hair was soft, it didn't look hard at ALL yet it was frizz free, shiny, and you couldn't see any gel residue. I'm hooked for life.
Before Twisted Sista Products:

Curls here are frizzy, tired, and dry. Bleh
After Twisted Sista Products:

I had actual spirals. My curls have always sort of looked more messy and kinks, never round spirally curls. Over half of my frizz was gone and my hair was super soft to the touch. And added shine! I felt like Goldilocks! Yes, still growing out my hair problems of the past so my hair is short and cut strangely, but Twisted Sista made me forget. I wore my curly hair down for the first time in years.

Which brings us back to money.
All the products listed are under $10.00
Wait, what?
Yep. $8.99 per product is what it costs.
Everything I tried = $44.95 (before tax)
I normally spend that much on 3 NOT sulfate/paraben free products, let alone 5 healthy ones.
BOTTOM LINE:
WOULD I RECOMMEND IT?
Yes. 100X over. I am a firm believer in switching product lines every once in a while. I'll use one set of products for a month- 3 months, switch lines, and back and forth. This DEFINITELY making the cut. Not only will I be saving a ton of money, but in just a few weeks my hair already looks longer and better.
